Afternoon bingos start at 10:30am and evening bingos start at 4:30pm. With some changes to the Bingo hall and various groups that work bingos, we have the opportunity to get extra bingos. We are required to work as a group, one bingo per month. This can be a half bingo or a full. Half bingos only require 6 - 8 workers and full bingos need 12 - 15 workers. Afternoon bingos start at 10:30am and evening bingos start at 4:30pm. Only 5.5 hours of time is required to work a bingo. All volunteers will be greatly appreciated. If each member could work just one bingo we have the entire year covered. Please contact Elske Evans @ 346-6250 if you can help out and remember...Bingos are now Smoke Free! March 27 - Thursday Evening April 5 - Saturday Evening May 11 - Sunday Evening July 4 - Friday Evening August 24 - Sunday Evening Sept 20 - Saturday Evening October 14 - Tuesday Evening November 16 - Sunday Evening PLEASE MARK THESE DATES ON YOUR 2008 CALENDER January 20 - General Membership Meeting & Open House, @ Moose Hall April 19 - Fruehlingsfest @ Red Deer Legion June 29 - Membership Meeting @ Moose Hall July 1 - Canada Day Celebrations July 26 - Sommernachtsfest Tent @ our site September 14 - Membership Meeting 7:30pm @ Moose Hall September 26 & 27 - Oktoberfest @ Festival Hall November 24 - Membership Meeting German Lessons We are trying very hard a to start a German School for both children and adults. We hope to have things organized so we can start in early spring. All we can tell you now is that we are considering a weekday evening and it will most likely be held at a classroom in Lindsay Thurber High School. We will have more information at the January Membership meeting if not sooner. Mixed Choir Is there is anyone that is interested in starting a mixed German Choir? We would like to hear your voice! We would like to start one if there is an interest. If you are interested, please contact Lothar Twardzik. Fruehlingsfest We will once again be holding a spring dinner and dance. It will take place at he Red Deer Legion on April 19th. More information to follow in January. July 1st Canada Day We will once again be participating in the Canada Day events at Power ponds with our food booth. It is a busy few days but the fun. Please plan to help out! Sommernachtsfest We will be holding a summer BBQ at the tent again. July 26th is that date we have planned. Once again, more information will be sent out as we near the dates. Oktoberfest This years Oktoberfest will be held over two days, September 26th and 27th. It will be held at Festival Hall unless our Hall is completed by then. The menu will be slightly different each day, with a good selection of German foods. The Band that we had booked from Germany has cancelled their trip for 2008 to Alberta, so we have booked Happy Hans and Lauren, whom we have had before and do a great job.
